UniverSoul Circus: A High-Energy, Multicultural Touring Circus

UniverSoul Circus Info

Founded in 1994 by Cedric Walker in Atlanta, UniverSoul Circus established a mission to spotlight extraordinary performers of color in a top-tier touring show. Over the years, the company has grown into a beloved circuit of high-energy acts, vibrant choreography, and audience interaction that transcends traditional circus genres. The signature Rhythm of the World show fuses hip hop, R&B, Latin rhythms, jazz, gospel, and pop with acrobatics, dance, and live music—creating a dynamic, inclusive experience for families and fans alike.

UniverSoul Circus is known for presenting a contemporary, accessible take on circus that honors heritage while delivering modern spectacle. The troupe's HBO Emmy Award-winning debut broadcast in 1998 helped bring this distinctive fusion to a national audience and cemented UniverSoul Circus as a landmark in modern live entertainment. As of 2018, UniverSoul celebrated a 25th anniversary with thousands of performances and millions of attendees, and by 2025 the company had been a touring staple for 31 years.
