The Spokane Symphony brings world-class orchestral performances to downtown Spokane, owned and operated by the orchestra itself at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. Since its beginnings as the Spokane Philharmonic in 1945 and its renaming in 1962, the ensemble has grown into a staple of the region’s cultural landscape. Under the leadership of Music Director James Lowe since 2019 and resident conductor Morihiko Nakahara, the orchestra delivers a diverse season that blends classical Masterworks, family concerts, educational programs, and vibrant Pops and Music & Movies experiences.
With an 80th anniversary season announced for 2025–26, the Spokane Symphony continues to celebrate a rich legacy while exploring new repertoire. The ensemble has released at least one commercial recording, Michael Daugherty’s Letters from Lincoln (2010) on E1 Music, highlighting its commitment to high-quality recordings beyond live performance.
