2013 Result: 38-44 (8th East seed), lost in Conference Quarterfinals to Miami Just a few years after Brandon Jennings lit up his Warriors for 55 points, Monta Ellis joined Jennings in Milwaukee. It made for an exciting duo of explosive players. The two combined for more than 38 points and 12 assists per game. Unfortunately the Bucks didn’t offer much else and a weak frontcourt prevented them from getting anywhere in the playoffs. Ellis left for Dallas in free agency but coming the other way is O.J. Mayo, a younger option at guard who can make up almost all of Ellis’ offensive production. The next task is to fix the frontcourt where Luc Richard Mbab a Moute is still miscast into a starter, young Larry Sanders is at center, and strong shooter Ersan Ilyasova projects at power forward. Veteran scorer Mike Dunleavy also left for divisional rival Chicago in free agency so it’s up to someone to step up offensively. The Bucks have their work cut out for them offensively, but they’ll need to spend even more attention on the defense which was the definite weakness of this team last year. New coach Larry Drew brings in a necessary breath of fresh air after years of mediocrity under Scott Skiles. But Jennings and Mayo will certainly be fun to watch and they know they have guys who can make clutch shots. The Milwaukee Bucks play in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference. Their home is and has been the BMO Harris Bradley Center in downtown Milwaukee since 1988. They were an expansion team in 1968 along with the Phoenix Suns and got off to a quick start. After a bad first season, the Bucks drafted Kareem Abdul-Jabbar the following offseason and acquired Oscar Robertson in a trade the offseason after that. Behind Abdul-Jabbar and Robertson they grabbed their first and only NBA title in 1971. They do have 13 division titles and 27 playoff appearances all-time, but haven’t won a playoff series since 2001 and have been stuck in a rut of mediocrity since the Ray Allen days. But with Jennings and Mayo up top, who knows what could happen. You definitely need to see the 2013-14 Milwaukee Bucks, and Gold Coast Tickets will get you in!
