2013 Result: 21-61, missed playoffs If you’re a fan of the Bobcats name, you are lucky enough to get one more season with it.  If you are more of a fan of the Charlotte Hornets name, you are probably even more excited.  Hornets fans have an entire year to hype the change in their franchise, and maybe by then they’ll have a winner to go along with it.  The Charlotte Hornets name is so popular it almost seems like they never left.  And it’ll serve them well to have the added buzz because that’s one thing they’ve definitely been lacking in Charlotte.  There is some exciting young talent here in UConn’s Kemba Walker (17.7 PPG) at point guard, Gerald Henderson (15.5 PPG) at shooting guard, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (9.0 PPG and 5.8 RPG in his rookie year).  Ben Gordon wasn’t very effective last year but will return.  Josh McRoberts is kind of invisible on the court sometimes but would provide solid depth on a good team.  But the front office is awfully grateful for the amnesty clause right now as they were able to waive Tyrus Thomas who they foolishly gave a huge contract to a few years ago.  The Bobcats—soon to be Hornets—will compete for one more year behind Walker to become a contender.   The Charlotte Bobcats represent the city of Charlotte, North Carolina in the Southeast Division and Eastern Conference of the NBA. The Bobcats were founded in 2004 as an expansion team and are owned by NBA star Michael Jordan, who bought the team in 2010. They currently play their home games at Time Warner Cable Arena, which is located in downtown Charlotte. The Bobcats have yet to win a NBA title, Conference title, or Division title and are currently working on reshaping the organization.  Their only playoff appearance came in 2010 when they were swept in four games against Orlando.  But with youth and fan support increasingly strong, there’s plenty of cause of optimism around.  Get your tickets to the Charlotte Bobcats' 2013-14  season today!
