Jeff Julian and drummer Brennen Chouinard began their musical collaboration through the Chicago band Deconstructing Jim. The band dissolved in 2009 leaving a half-finished record to the wayside. After a year of traveling and playing in other bands, Julian decided to return to the unfinished tracks, with the nagging feeling that there was something there and it needed to come to fruition. With producer Jeff Halland (who also played bass on the album) on board, Julian returned to Halland’s Minnesota studio “Vaudeville” to finish recording. With the record finished, he set about putting together a new band with Chouinard, adding guitarist Andy Payne and bassist Bill Aldridge to the mix, who have helped breathe life into the material from a live standpoint. Wielding sound as a weapon, Vaudevileins combine elements of progressive and pop rock to form honest songs built on sweet melodies and powerful rhythms. They anticipate their April 2011 self-titled record release and will soon embark on a tour of the Midwest and East Coast. Read more on Last.fm.
