One may not instantly assume the Washington, D.C./Baltimore, MD area a breeding ground for talented DJs or renowned clubs. Despite that, Scott Henry made the area his own, thrilling crowds with his DJ performances and packing his legendary clubs. Like many other electronic dance music artists from the D.C. area -- Deep Dish, John Selway, BT, Charles Feelgood -- Henry first became infatuated with this style of music through the East Coast rave eventsof the early 90s. Yet even before these earliest experiences he had started spinning records as soon as 1985 while a freshman at Towson State College near Baltimore, MD. In 1990, he moved on to techno and house, ultimately forming a weekly event called Orbit with Charles Feelgood, which lasted until 1992. Next came Fever, a weekly party in Baltimore featuring world-class DJing talent. Henry didn't stop there, though, he also started a more ambitious Friday night event known as Buzz in D.C. This gigantic event drew clientele from up and down the East Coast with some of the best DJ-lineups imaginable --Feelgood, Lovegrove, Roni Size, Uberzone, DJ Sun, DJ Dan, Paul Oakenfold, Dieselboy, DJ Icey, Josh Wink, Goldie, Rabbit in the Moon, etc. -- All the while Henry held down a residence at Buzz, constantly sharpening his floor filling DJ skills. He was arguably known for his breakbeat sets, though his interests shifted from funky techno to progressive house to the occasional doses of trance and trip-hop. Read more on Last.fm.
