SchwarZenator is an Arnold Schwarzenegger Concept/Parody Band.... What do you get when you combine unfettered movie fanaticism, blazing musicianship and some really obtuse comedy? You get what could only be considered the “Citizen Kane” of Arnold Schwarzenegger concept bands. You get: SCHWARZENATOR. Conceived in an apartment in West Hollywood circa 2006 by three crazy (albeit wildly talented) musicians, Schwarzenator is the twisted, mutant brainchild of: vocalist JP Von Hitchburg (Within The Void / Venison); guitarist Shane Gibson (KORN / Jonathan Davis / Stork) and guitarist Jonathan Weed (Charlie Superfly). Like a freakish, musical Frankenstein, Schwarzenator was created to fulfill its masters’ twisted desire: to create the ultimate Heavy Metal homage to all things Arnold Schwarzenegger. While many would consider an Arnold Schwarzenegger concept band to be stupid, but the evil geniuses behind Schwarzenator take their stupidity and their music very seriously. So despite rigorous touring and recording schedules for their individual projects, Von Hitchburg/Gibson/Weed wrote Schwarzenator material for over two years before beginning recordings. Melding comedy, irony and a healthy dose of parody with virtuoso musicianship, Schwarzenator manages to lampoon California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s finest film offerings ranging from “Kindergarten Cop” to the “Terminator” franchise while rocking audiences to their endoskeletons. The first tracks for their debut album “Schwarzenator” were recorded in Connecticut in May of 2008 at Sonic Environments joined by Damion Sanchez (Blue Man Group) on drums. Like the infamous cyborg assassin with whom they are obsessed, Schwarzenator’s mayhem could not be contained and attempts to remain incognito until their stealth project was finished, proved futile. When Schwarzenator put two songs on Myspace in January of 2009, they began receiving thousands of fan hits. So Schwarzenator put out a 2-song-single CD in Spring 2009, which included the tracks, "End of Days" and "Commando." In early 2009, Schwarzenator joined forces with Austrian uber-drummer Thomas Lang (Rhythm magazine’s “Best Drummer in the World”) and bassist Eloy Palacios (Stork / Venison). Read more on Last.fm.
