Alternative metal group Faith No More was formed in San Francisco, California. Known for their unique sound and live performances. Incorporating a variety of genres into their sound, the band rapidly set themselves aside from their contemporaries with their use of junk, hardcore punk, electronica, soul, soft rock, and jazz, in addition to heavy metal. Formed by Mike Bordin on drums, Roddy Bottum on keyboard, and Bill Gould on bass and guitar the band was formed from the ashes of a previous group they had been involved in with Mike Morris. In 1982 the members split from Morris's band and renamed themselves Faith No More. They released their debut studio album We Care a Lot in 1985, and it was well received though the vocals were criticized. After the release band worked with a variety of vocalists before finally selecting Jon Hudson in 1996. Before then the band had worked with a variety of vocalists including Courtney Love and Chuck Mosley. With Hudson on vocals they released their Album of the Year in 1997. After 1998 the band went on a hiatus, but they reunited in 2009 for a series of reunion tours that led to rumors of a new album. After several years of rumors, Faith No More released a new single titled "Superhero" in March of 2015. The track will act as the lead single from their 2015 release Sol Invictus, which is the band's first studio album since their 1997 Album of the Year. With their unique sound the band has carved a place for themselves in the music world, and their fans still clamor to see them onstage. They have been nominated for three Grammy Awards and have won one MTV Video Music Award for their 1991 "Falling to Pieces."
