He was on the first season of Family Outing, a variety show that is part of SBS's Good Sunday line-up. So far, he has released three solo trot singles, 날 봐, 귀순 (Look At Me, Gwisoon), 대박이야! (Big Hit!) and Cotton Candy. Although his parents were against the idea of him becoming a singer, Daesung pursued a career as a singer and was eventually recruited by YG Entertainment after auditioning. He later appeared on a documentary show following the potential members of what eventually became Big Bang. Their first appearance as a group was on August 19, 2006 at YG Family's 10th Anniversary concert. On September 23, 2006, they had their debut performance. Daesung is set to embark in solo activities as he release his first solo album in Japan. Big Bang's official fan club in Japan confirmed that Daesung will be releasing his first solo album on February 27, 2013 and will hold a number of promotional activities in the country.
