Rough season for the leaders and best, who went 5-7 in 2014 to miss a bowl for just the third time since 1974 and then had to watch archrival Ohio State take the national crown. The ineptitude was evident across most phases of the game, and even star quarterback prospect Shane Morris looked entirely lost in a small sample size. But hopes are high in Ann Arbor following the dramatic entrance of coach Jim Harbaugh, who spent much of spring and summer 2015 aggressively recruiting nationwide through satellite camps. They’ll need the help--this was the Big Ten’s worst offense in 2014 with the fewest yards and just 20.9 points per game. Morris is the favorite at QB still, but top WR Devin Funchess is now a Carolina Panther. USC transfer Ty Isaac is the favorite to take over at running back, although Derrick Green has shown promising flashes. The defense actually wasn’t that bad in 2014, but the 2015 squad loses LB Jake Ryan and DE Frank Clark to the NFL. Harbaugh’s new defensive coordinator DJ Durkin takes over a unit that was already third in the Big Ten in rushing defense a year ago--look for more improvement in the new scheme. When it comes to intangibles, the team is certainly reinvigorated around Harbaugh, and you can bet there won’t be empty seats in the student section this year. The Michigan Wolverines operate under coach Jim Harbaugh at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines are one of the most prominent college football brands in the nation with relentless community support and a massive alumni network. Winning tradition has helped them too, although you wouldn’t have observed it last season. Michigan made a postseason appearance every year from 1975 to 2007 and has had mediocre results since under Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke. Aside from a #8 preseason ranking in 2012, Michigan hasn’t been in the top 10 since that 2007 season. They had been in the top 10 at some point in every year since 1968. LaMarr Woodley, Tom Brady, Chad Henne, Charles Woodson, Leon Hall, Steve Breaston, and Ty Law are just a few names that have come from a program that boasts the most all-time wins, 11 national titles, 42 conference titles, and leads in all of its rivalries. Now that Notre Dame ended theirs with Michigan, the focus on Ohio State (“Ohio”) and Michigan State (“State”) intensifies--the Wolverines host both in the Big House this fall as headliners of a prime home schedule. Other home games include Oregon State, UNLV, BYU, Northwestern, and Rutgers. Gold Coast Tickets has the best selection of Michigan Wolverines tickets! Go Blue!
