With the winter finally upon us, let's check out how our favorite teams have fared so far...
After a hectic and injury laden start to the NBA season, the Bulls look to finally be headed in the right direction. The first few weeks of action were filled with injuries and question marks, but the Bulls have managed to get off to an 11 and 6 start and look poised to go on a strong run. Derrick Rose made his return to the court after nearly two years, and immediately found himself back on the sidelines with twisted ankles and a hamstring strain. Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol, and key sixth man, Taj Gibson, also saw themselves battling injuries. Most teams would have hung their heads and waited for their stars to return, but not the Bulls. Led by Jimmy Butler, the Bulls battled each and every game, and kept the ship more than afloat. Rookie Nikola Mirotic and wily veteran, Aaron Brooks, have helped stabilize the bench. Butler has been off to an outstanding start. The small-forward is playing at an All Star level while averaging 22 points a game and playing his usual ferocious defense.
This past week included the annual and much discussed circus road trip, and it saw the Bulls play some of their best basketball of the season. Newcomer Pau Gasol recovered from his early season calf injury, and is playing some of the best basketball of his long career. Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah have returned to the lineup as well, and have made a crucial impact. With the Bulls rounding into shape, the rest of the league better watch out. The Bulls are undefeated when their core starting five are all healthy. The United Center will be the spot to be this Winter, as the Bulls battle for Eastern Division supremacy. The division is up for grabs, and the Bulls look poised to take the crown. Get the best Chicago Bulls seats from Gold Coast Tickets!

Riding a three game winning streak, the Blackhawks have been playing their best hockey of late. The same circus that saw the Bulls playing away from home also put the Hawks on the road, where they knocked off a couple of the best teams in the league. Taking eight out of a possible ten points on the five game trip, the Hawks find themselves in the middle of the incredibly competitive Western Conference. One of the biggest surprises thus far has been the play of Kris Versteeg. Versteeg, who struggled last year in his first season back with the team, has played outstanding and is currently third on the team with 18 points.
Corey Crawford, however, has arguably been the Hawks best player early on this season. The veteran goalie has kept the team in almost every game he has been in between the posts. Of course, you cannot mention the Blackhawks and not talk about the play of the dynamic duo: Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. The two superstars have been phenomenal so far, and currently sit 1-2 on the team in goals. A veteran team like the Hawks knows when to put their foot on the pedal, and that's exactly what they have done lately. The Madhouse on Madison will be rocking all season long! Not many fans expected the Chicago Bears to be where they are at right now: seemingly out of contention. Unless there is a miracle, the Bears will miss the playoffs, and the season will go down as a huge disappointment. Everybody has their opinions on what went wrong, but the 5-7 Bears have taken multiple steps back in Marc Trestman’s second year in charge.
However, we here at Gold Coast, like to focus on the positives. The Bears have the opportunity to play spoiler for the rest of the season, and that starts this Thursday vs the Cowboys. In the Bears second consecutive Thursday game, they will have the tough task of containing Demarco Murray and Dez Bryant. Head out to Soldier Field to support the Bears and get your tickets from Gold Coast!
