Lollapalooza Spotlight: Lianne La Havas

23-year-old Lianne La Havas has been called the “Golden Girl of British Music,” see why this Sunday at Lollapalooza…

About Lianne La Havas

English folk and soul singer Lianna La Havas was nominated for the BBC Sound of 2012 award for her truly unique sound.  That’s a fitting trait for a soul singer from London born to a Greek father and Jamaican mother.  If that’s doesn’t scream unique, then we don’t know what does.  She began writing songs at age 11 even though she didn’t know how to play the guitar until 18.  Now she plays her 1964 Harmony Alden Stratophone for crowds around the world.  Her first album, Is Your Love Big Enough? (2012), was released last July and was named the iTunes album of the year.  It peaked at #4 on the UK chart and #142 on the US chart and this Lolla show should definitely increase her notoriety here in the United States.
