September 2012 Concert Guide
As summer winds down here in Chicago so does the beloved concert season. While many of the major concerts and music festivals are now behind us, the month of September still features a long list of notable shows. This month we'll see Bruce Springsteen perform back to back nights at Wrigley Field, Humboldt Park packed full of rock fans when Riot Fest invades and legendary bands Kiss & Motley Crue team up for a concert for the ages.
Man, rock music really steals the spotlight this September. Riot Fest alone boasts one of the best collections of bands ever to hit the city at once. This year's festival has a fantastic group of headliners in Rise Against, Iggy and the Stooges, The Offspring, Elvis Costello and A Day To Remember, but when you look further down the line-up and see bands like The Gaslight Anthem, Alkaline Trio, The Promise Ring and Less Than Jake you'll truly see how great of a cast Riot Fest has assembled. However, before Riot Fest hits Humboldt Park music fans will the chance to see "The Boss" play back to back nights at the Friendly Confines as part of the Wrecking Ball Tour, for what is sure to be one of the biggest concerts of the year in Chicago. And the big names don't stop there... Peter Gabriel, Kiss, Rush, Bob Mould and many other great rockers will be visiting Chicago this month, take a look below for our list of notable shows.

September showcases four great country acts all at very different stages in their careers. 79-year-old Willie Nelson is one of the genre's legends, responsible for paving the way for many of the acts we see today. Toby Keith has been one of the biggest names in country music for nearly the last 20 years; with more number one singles than he can count, Keith's concerts will often break out into one big sing-a-long. Just entering the prime of their career, the Grammy Award winning Zac Brown Band is currently on one of the hottest tours in all of country music - you're not going to want to miss it when these guys come to town. Florida Georgia Line has only been around for a few years, but they've already caught the attention of all the right people - they'll be playing up an close and personal show at Joe's Bar this month, come and see what all the fuss is about.

Pop/New WaveNot only will the Queen of Pop be performing two shows in Chicago this month, but Kelly Clarkson & The Fray will co-headline at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre while Blondie, Devo and David Byrne each get their turn with the Chicago Theatre. If you're interested in seeing any of these pop stars live in concert be sure to get your tickets soon because these shows are known to sell out early and often.

R&B/Gospel/BluesIf you're a fan of blues, gospel or R&B, then you're more than likely going to appreciate this next collection of concerts. Notable artists are pairing up for tours all around; R&B greats Mary J Blige and D'Angelo have announced they'll be headlining a month long tour, Buddy Guy and Johnny Lang are currently on a national tour showing stuff blues legends are made off while four of gospel music's biggest names come together for How Sweet The Sound. Not to be left out, Anthony Hamilton will also be headlining at Arie Crown at the end of the month.
