Lollapalooza Spotlight: Dr. Dog

Lollapalooza Spotlight: Dr. Dog

Dr. Dog is a rock band from Pennsylvania consisting of 5 members. Formed in 1999 the band has gone through a few member changes, but currently Scott McMicken, Toby Leaman, Zach Miller, Erin Slick, and Frank McElroy create the psychedelic rock sound that defines the band. You can definitely hear a 1960s rock influence in the band’s sound. In 2004 the band was invited on two tours by My Morning Jacket after passing a copy of Toothbrush, their 2nd album, to Jim James (lead vocalist and song writer of My Morning Jacket). Since then they have tour across the US and made several appearances on late night shows with comedic personalities David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, and Conan O’Brien.
