Washington Huskies Football

2013: 9-4 (4-4 Pac-12); won Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl over BYU

Coach Steve Sarkisian did such a great job with the Huskies over five years that he outcoached his own program.  In 2009 he inherited a team coming off a embarrassing 0-12 year and led them to an upset win over #3 USC in Week 3.  Five years and four bowl appearances later, he’s returned to USC to take their head coaching job.  But they replaced him with former Boise State coach Chris Petersen, the man responsible for taking Boise State’s play well above their conference level.  The Huskies beat Petersen’s Broncos in Week 1 last year, then beat Illinois in Chicago at Soldier Field.  They narrowly lost to #5 Stanford and #13 UCLA, so sophomore QB Cyler Miles has a lot to build from.  WR Jaydon Mickens (688 rec yards, five TDs) figures to be the new #1.  The biggest loss for the Huskies to overcome for sure, however, will be the loss of RB Bishop Sankey (1,870 yards, 20 TDs), a second-round NFL draft pick.  Washington has gotten their football program to new heights, however, and they look to have their first 10-win season since 2000.  This season Illinois will be their biggest non-conference game, albeit an easy one, and their other biggest home games will be Stanford, ASU, and UCLA.  A win over any of those three could immediately earn them a national ranking.

The Washington Huskies are North Division members of the Pac 12 Conference.  They operate under head coach Petersen at Husky Stadium, back in action after a 2012 renovation.  Husky Stadium’s metal roof provides for one of the best home-field advantages in all of sports.  The Huskies have two national titles, 15 conference titles, 34 bowl appearances, and have major rivalries with Washington State and Oregon.  Washington is a noted school for producing quarterbacks, such as Warren Moon, Chris Chandler, Mark Brunell, Damon Huard, and Jake Locker.  Desmond Trufant and Dashon Goldson are two other great Huskies in the NFL today.  This season the Huskies look to be atop the Pac-12 and Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on the action.  Gold Coast Tickets has the best selection for all your college football needs this season!
