The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs are going to be playing in the Big 12 conference in the 2012 season for the first time. Previously, the Horned Frogs had been dominating the Mountain West Conference, and college football felt a change needed to be made to intensify competition. The Horned Frogs operate under head coach Gary Patterson at Amon Carter Stadium, which holds just over 44,000 fans. White, purple, and black alma matter are all over the NFL as many players have made it, most notably including: New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson, Indianapolis Colts defensive end Jerry Hughes, and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. In the 2009 season the Horned Frogs made their first BCS bowl trip since the 40’s, and they did it again a year later as they won the Rose Bowl, defeating the Big 10’s Wisconsin. Last season the Horned Frogs felt they were robbed out of a BCS game as they finished 11-2, ending the year with a win in the Poinsettia Bowl. This year the Frogs look to come back with a vengeance as they enter into the Big 12 Conference.
