The 2012 NCAA football season will be the first time in over 45 years that the Penn State Nittany Lions will have a new head coach. Former New England Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien will enter his first season as head coach of the Nittany Lions and will be looking to not only improve on a 9-4 record from 2011, but also put a new face the tainted football program. O’Brien knows the only way he’s going to do this is by bring home the wins. An offensive mastermind, O’Brien will look to bring his offensive game to a school that has been often referred to as “Linebacker U” and recognized for its overwhelming defenses over the years. With Matt McGloin starting at quarterback, fans will likely see an improvement offensively, as O’Brien was known to utilize the quarterback position effectively at New England.
