Final Record: 4-12
The 2012 NFL season will be the 53rd season since the Oakland Raiders were created and will be the first season under head coach Dennis Allen. It will also mark the first season without longtime owner Al Davis, who passed away on October 8, 2011. This year, the Raiders are hoping to improve their 8-8 record from last season and return to the playoffs for the first time since 2002. Things look good in Oakland too: quarterback Carson Palmer has had a full year to feel out his team and wide receivers, and running back Darren McFadden has proven he is one of the best players in the NFL. If things go according to plan, the nine year playoff drought may be just a thing of the past after this 2012 NFL season.
