Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are exited to tip off their 2012-2013 college basketball season.  The Fighting Irish are coached by Mike Brey in his 11th year with the program.  They play their home games at the beautiful Edmund P. Joyce Center in Notre Dame, Indiana.  The Irish will add some new talent to the bunch as Cameron Biedscheid and Zach Auguste head to the squad.  Both players were ranked in the top 100 over the Rivals Top 150 Board.  The Fighting Irish are excited to have such a strong recruiting class as they will miss star player Tim Abromaitis next season.  Abromaitis lobbied to the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility as he tore his ACL at the beginning of the year, but the NCAA shut him down.  Last season the Fighting Irish finished 22-12, 3rd in the Big East, and received a 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament.  They lost the preliminary round to a good 10th seeded Xavier team.  They do return 2012 Big East’s most improved player in Jack Cooley.  Cooley averaged 12.4 points and grabbed 9 boards a game this past season.  This season he looks to average a double-double, something Notre Dame has not had in a while.  The Fighting Irish have been to the tourney for three straight years, but have not been past the Round of 32 since 2003 when the team made it to the Sweet 16.  With the loss of Abromaitis, some say that this will be a rebuilding year for the Irish, but head coach Mike Brey does not see it that way.  He sees the Irish advancing fun into the tournament under the wing of Cooley.  Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on the action as Chicago native Jack Cooley takes a young Fighting Irish team under his belt as a leader looking to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.  Grab the best seats in the house at the Edmund P. Joyce Center, or follow your Fighting Irish on the road right here at Gold Coast.  Gold Coast Tickets has the best selection for your entire 2012-2013 college basketball needs!
