Last season, the arrival of Ricky Rubio dramatically improved the T-wolves' overall performance, as he became a contender for Rookie of the Year. Rubio seemed to live up to all hype that surrounded him in the draft and Minnesota's playoff drought seemed to be over, but Rubio's torn ACL would smash the T-wolves' dreams for a postseason and leave them last in the division. They have some great talent in Kevin Love and Brandon Roy but with a glaring hole where Rubio should be, they are clearly nowhere near as efficient. Rubio is expected to return shortly after the start of the regular season. In the meantime, the T-wolves still have the bodies to keep them a solid team. Head coach Rick Adelman is tooling up to win and he knows this year's roster has the guys to get it done. The trade for Chase Budinger from Houston is a smart move and Adelman has had experience coaching him in the past. When the T-wolves' elites return from their injuries, they should be able to keep Minnesota in the running for the playoffs. Don't wait and get your tickets today!
The Minnesota Timberwolves are based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and play basketball in the Northwest Division and Western Conference of the NBA. They were founded in 1989 as an expansion team for the state of Minnesota. Like most expansions, they struggled in their early years but found stability after acquiring Kevin Garnett in the 1995 NBA Draft. Garnett helped the Timberwolves reach the playoffs eight consecutive times from 1997 to 2004 and win their first division title in 2004. In 2007, Garnett would leave the Timberwolves and they would again struggle until 2010 when they signed Kevin Love and drafted Ricky Rubio. Love and Rubio are expected to end Minnesota's troubles and begin a new era in their franchise's history. Now is a perfect time to get your tickets to the Minnesota Timberwolves' 2012-13 NBA season.
