The Iowa Hawkeye football program is based at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. The Hawkeyes are in Big Ten Conference of the NCAA and play their home games at Kinnick Stadium. The term “Hawkeye” originated from the book The Last of the Mohicans and was later used to describe the people of Iowa. The Hawkeyes last won a BCS Bowl title in the 2010 Orange Bowl against Georgia Tech. The Hawkeyes are also known for their long-standing rivalry with the Iowa State Cyclones and both schools compete for the Cy-Hawk Trophy every year.
