DC United

The four time MLS Cup champions have been around since the beginning of Major League Soccer. With the most MLS Cups in league history they saw a lot of their success come in the late 90s. Head coach Bruce Arena led the club to back to back titles in 1996 and 1997 before departing to take the head coaching job of the US national team. Their other two championships came in 1997 and 2004. It was DC United who signed the 14-year old Freddy Adu in 2004 sending shockwaves around the league. Adu was the youngest player in the history of the MLS. Jaime Moreno is the team’s all time leading goalscorer with a 131 shots finding the back of the net.

Former DC United player Ben Olsen is the current head coach of the team. While the team struggled to win games in 2013 they were able to shock the league and win the US Open Cup. DC United is off to a flying start in 2014. A balanced scoring attack along and the addition of US national team member Eddie Johnson has provided the spark the DC attack needed.  In addition to the success on the field, a new soccer specific stadium is on the way!
