The Clemson Tigers are ready to tip off their 2012-2013 college basketball season. The Clemson Tigers have not won the ACC Conference since 1990, but rightfully so as the ACC is one of the toughest basketball conferences in the nation. Prestigious powerhouses such as Duke and North Carolina sit a top the conference and rarely fluctuate into the middle. Clemson has to hope for upsets but playing on the road at Cameron Indoor or the Dean E. Smith Center is almost impossible. Last season Clemson finished a mere 16-15 under 1st year head coach Brad Brownell, who replaced Oliver Purnell. The Tigers did have a winning record, but did not advance to the NIT or the NCAA Tournament. This was a huge disappointment for the squad as they had made the NCAA Tournament the previous four years. This season Brownell has big plans for the Tigers. Although they lose senior guard Andre Young to graduation, they are confident other players can pick up the slack. One in particular is forward Devin Booker who will be a senior this year. Brownell will turn to Booker as a leader of this Tiger team this upcoming season. Last season, Booker averaged 10.5 points and 7 rebounds a game. This season he will try for a double-double every game of the season. The Tigers bring in a great recruiting class with five names grazing ESPN's list of the top 300 recruits in the nation. One of those names hits the Rivals Top 150 Board and that is forward JaronBlossomgame at #114 Sullivan should help Booker in the frontcourt this year, and is a very good low post defender. The Tigers play their home games at the beautiful Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina.
