September 2011 marked the beginning of Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour. This event is the first of its kind paying tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson. If you have been to a Cirque du Soleil performance before then you know the capabilities of the productions. There is no doubt that this show will live up to its expectations. The show’s budget was $60 million dollars, to put that into perspective the most expensive film of all time cost a little over $300 million. The producers are sparing no expense when it comes to honoring the late Michael Jackson. The show is being directed by Jamie King who began his career working with Madonna and has done several other projects with Britney Spears, Rihanna, Ricky Martin, Elton John, and Celine Dion. Many other “Cirque vets” have been recruited to help this performance live up to the hype. The performance will tour Canada and the US before heading to Europe and Asia.
Instead of following a set story line the show is more of a visual, audio, choreographic feast with a fantasy like theme. One can’t help but be reminded of the Neverland Ranch which represented Michael’s creative mind and love for art and fantasy. The show uses much of the legend’s catalog to drive the show from realm to realm with the main focus based around the “Giving Tree” (representative of his creative genius).
There are only two days to catch Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour in Chicago. Gold Coast Tickets has several options for you and your party. We can also help you get tickets on a national level if you want to catch the tour in a different city.
