Oregon State Beavers

Oregon State had a surprisingly great year in 2012, going 9-3 before losing in the Alamo Bowl.  It was their first bowl appearance since the 2009 season and impressive for their early season wins over ranked Wisconsin and UCLA, after which Oregon State became ranked themselves for the rest of the season.  Head coach Mike Riley did it through a defense that finished up at 22nd overall last year, but unfortunately a lot of the stars he developed have left from the defensive line.  Recreating that system will be huge this season.  Top receiver Markus Wheaton is gone, so Brandin Cooks is the new #1 receiver.  That’ll be fine; depth behind him is an issue.  There’s plenty of depth at running back, however, so they’ll need to turn to the ground game more often than they did last year.  A really weak early schedule should help Oregon State get close to bowl eligibility, but then they matchup against the big boys.  Stanford and USC come to Corvallis in consecutive weeks, and road games at Cal, Arizona State, and Oregon could make Beavers fans cringe more often than not.  But Riley can rebuild his defense, there’s no reason Oregon State can’t make it back-to-back great seasons.

The Oregon State Beavers are members of the Pac 12 Conference.  They operate under head coach Mike Riley at Reser Stadium, which holds just over 45,000 fans.  All-time they have five conference titles and 16 bowl appearances.  Their main rivalries are with Oregon, Washington, and Washington State.  The Oregon rivalry, known as the Civil War, is their most fierce, despite their overall record of 46-60-10 and losing the last five matchups.  The Beavers have had many infamous NFL players throughout the years; however, currently the most notable include: Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Dwan Edwards, and St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson.  This season Riley is ready and confident his team will top the Pac 12 and Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on the action.  Gold Coast Tickets has the best selection for all your college football needs this season!
