Boston College Eagles

The 16-17 Eagles clearly weren’t worthy of an NCAA Tournament berth but showed hope for the future with a young, developing roster.  The roster had just two upperclassmen and the only senior averaged just 3.2 points per game.  So forward Ryan Anderson (14.9 PPG, 8.0 RPG), junior, could be one of the best players in the conference this winter.  Guard Olivier Hanlan (15.5 PPG, 4.2 RPG) and guard Joe Rahon (10.1 PPG, 3.7 APG), both juniors, will also highlight a quickly-improving BC team.  The fan base will be appreciative of it, too, after four years with no postseason play for the first time since 1990-93.  The coach is still a question mark, however, so it’ll be interesting to see how much patience the fans have if the season starts poorly.  With a weak recruiting class, Coach Donahue will have no choice but to develop that talent on his roster.

The Boston College Eagles operate under Coach Steve Donahue at the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.  They have made nine appearances in the Sweet Sixteen but have never made it to the Final Four.  They’ve been to the NCAA Tournament 18 times, most recently in 2009.  22 Boston College players have made the NBA, including Jared Dudley, Reggie Jackson, Dana Barros, Howard Eisley, and Craig Smith.  While not necessarily known for a strong basketball program, BC has put together good teams with decent players on occasion and look to be doing that this season.  Get your Boston College basketball tickets from Gold Coast Tickets!
