Kansas Jayhawks (Football)

Going 1-11 without a win in FBS play may seem pretty bad, and that’s because it is.  But Kansas can’t get worse, and they actually played much better than a 1-11 team, nearly beating Texas, Texas Tech, Northern Illinois, and Oklahoma State.  Bill Belichick disciple Charlie Weis had higher expectations than last year’s disappointment, and its unlikely Kansas loses 10 games again.  James Sims and Tony Pierson, the running back duo, were a real bright spot on this team and should be again.  Neither Dayne Crist nor Michael Cummings were very good at quarterback last year, so Jake Heaps will take over there.  He’s an unknown but scouts say he’s talented, and Kansas doesn’t really have any better options.  On defense, a unit that ranked 112th in the country in points allowed will have plenty of starters return but is still miles behind the rest of the conference.  Leading tackler Ben Heeney returns, however, and their only four-star recruit is defensive tackle Marquel Combs.  In a school dominated by basketball for ages, the football program has to rebuild.  But if the running back duo continues to be effective and Heaps can play a bit, Kansas could be interesting to watch in 2013.

The Kansas Jayhawks are a college football team in the Big 12.  The Jayhawks operate under head coach Charlie Weis at the Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas, which holds just over 50,000 fans.  Kansas has a few NFL Hall of Famers, most famous being running back Gale Sayers.  Kansas has just nine conference titles and 12 bowl appearances all-time.  In 2008 the Jayhawks made their first BCS appearance, winning the Orange Bowl.  They haven’t been to a bowl since the Insight Bowl a year later.  This season, the Jayhawks look to get back to their winning ways and Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on the action.  Gold Coast Tickets has the best selection for all your college football needs this season!
