Iowa State Cyclones

Although Iowa State has been to a bowl each of the last two seasons, they still have never had a 10-win season.  It’s a work in progress for I-State coming off back-to-back 6-7 seasons.  8 bowls in the last 13 seasons is a sign of progress, but they’ve never been a serious threat to the Big 12 crown and only mentioned in terms of a joke when it comes to a national title threat.  Sam B. Richardson will try to change that as he takes over at quarterback this season, a speed threat and decent thrower.  The Big 12 is known for its high-powered offenses, and although Iowa State isn’t there yet, it has the potential to join that group.  The receiving corps was remarkably balanced last year, but it’s still a problem when the top three targets graduate.  Still, the other young receivers don’t have far to go to set up a great offense.  James White and Jeff Woody were the most effective rushers last year, and balancing the running game will help the passing game.  I-State wasn’t bad defensively last year, but they lose linebacker and leading tackler A.J. Klein.  Plus, the Cyclones oddly didn’t sack many at all, and were led in sacks by Cleyon Laing at 3.0.  Pressuring the quarterback is an issue.  A rough schedule lurks, and it sometimes seems like I-State struggles to fight for every win no matter the opponent.

The Iowa State Cyclones are a college football team that plays in the Big 12 Conference.  The Cyclones operate under head coach Paul Rhoads at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa, which holds exactly 55,000 fans.  Although they have played football for a long time, Iowa State does not have much of a legacy, boasting just 12 bowl appearances (three wins), three Consensus All-Americans and two conference titles.  Iowa State fights for the Cy-Hawk Trophy with Iowa every year although they trail in the series 39-21.  They also trail in their rivalry with Missouri but lead against Kansas State.  With Missouri in the SEC, the future of the rivalry is in question.  This season the Cyclones hope to be atop the Big 12 and Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on the action.  Gold Coast Tickets has the best selection for all your college football needs this season!
