Pitchfork Music Festival kicks off this Friday (7/18) at Union Park in Chicago. The festival has been around since 2006 and has grown in popularity each year. This year’s festival features the headliners Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Kendrick Lamar. Any alternative rock, rap & hip-hop, or electronic dance music fan will be more than satisfied with the rest of the versatile lineup. Whether its Pusha T, Schoolboy Q, Giorgio Moroder, Deafheaven, or The Field, Pitchfork has you covered.
Gates officially open for the three day festival Friday at 3:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday at noon. Besides great music, the festival offers a great opportunity to shop for records between sets, as well as check out some of the country’s best show-poster artists.
The main gate and entrance to the event is located on Ashland, on the West side of Union Park. The festival is easily accessible by public transportation including bus or train.
