The English rock band was one of the earliest groups to jump into the alternative dance music movement. The group who began to perform in 1980 before breaking up is back and back with new content! New Order came out with “Drop The Guitar” this past spring which was their first new track in almost a decade. The track was actually debuted during their Lollapalooza Chile set. Who knows what they songs they will release when they head to Aragon Ballroom!

One Republic dropped their third studio album, Native, in 2013. Their upcoming tour to promote that very album will be stopping in Chicago this July. Many people remember the band’s first single “Apologize” but more recent hits like “Counting Stars” can be heard all over the radio in the U.S. “Love Runs Out”, “Something I Need”, and “If I lose Myself” are other great hits off Native.

Berlin’s hit song “Take My Breathe Away” is still familiar among listeners more than 25 years after it appeared in the film Top Gun. The band, popular in the 1980s, still is making great music. Their album, Animal, was released at the end of 2013 and is combination of both the old and new Berlin. Embracing the explosive EDM scene the album is still filled with the enough pop saavy style to keep their the old school fans happy. See for yourself when Berlin comes to City Winery July 1st!

Dave Matthews Band @ FirstMerit Bank Pavilion, July 4-5:

DMB’s 2014 Summer tour has been dubbed “A Very Special Evening With Dave Matthews Band”. The band will be play two sets at each show one being acoustic and feature different onstage lineups, as well as the traditional electric set. The band is said to have a new album in the works so who knows what they will drop when they hit the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion this fourth of July!

The legendary Paul McCartney is still at it. The famous member of The Beatles and Rock Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ tour will be hitting Chicago this July. It initially looked like the tour would not take place, McCartney cited recent health issues when he was forced to cancel shows in both Japan and South Korea, but McCartney is back and ready to rock just in time. The pop star’s most recent album, Artpop, was released at the end of 2013 and debuted at number of on the U.S. Billboard 200. It became Gaga’s second consecutive number one record. Lady Gaga’s fourth major tour is said to be even bigger and better than the previous three. The show features more than 110 feet of catwalks above the stage and it has been rumoured that lucky fans will be taking place in the proceedings. Her most recent album will be on display as well as the set list will heavily focus on the “Artpop”.

Journey and Steve Miller Band will be joined on their 2014 summer tour by special guest Tower of Power. Journey’s early work is well documented with hits like “Don’t Stop Believin” but they actually released a new album in 2011. “Eclipse” was the band’s 14th studio album they have produced. “The Joker” is a Steve Miller Band hit that most everyone recognizes and a staple of the classic rock band. Combining the two legendary bands with Tower of Power forms a trifecta that will not want to be missed!

The country star has consistently been making great music since 1993. His most recent album, Drinks After Work, was his seventeenth and debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200. His Shut Up & Hold On tour will be hitting Chicago July 13th. Opening for Keith along his tour is none other than Krystal Keith, his daughter. Some of Keith’s more recent hits include “Drinks After Work”,  “I Like Girls That Drink Beer”, and “Hope on the Rocks”.
