About Vic Mensa

Vic Mensa is an up and coming hip-hop artist from Chicago. The 21-year old local product attended Whitney Young High School where he was a member of the group, Kids These Days. Kids These Days performed throughout the Chicagoland area, including a mid day show at Lollapalooza in 2011, before breaking up in May of 2013. After the band went its separate ways, Mensa began his solo career. Vic Mensa started his solo career by releasing his first major mixtape, INNANETAPE. The mixtape features artists like Chance The Rapper and Rockie Fresh and was a huge hit.  Next, Mensa found himself joining established hip-hop artists, J. Cole and Wale, on tour.  He then joined rapper Danny Brown’s tour in Europe at the beginning of 2014.  Vic Mensa continued his rise to stardom when he was named to the XXL Freshmen Class of 2014. The list contains 12 artists who are breaking new ground in hip-hop and has previously included the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Macklemore. His first official single, “Down on My Luck” is set to be released in the US for digital download on July 6th.  Stay on the lookout for this up and coming artist.
