Shaw A Hawk For Two More Seasons
Anticipations are high in Chicago and the ink is still fresh from one of the most exciting contracts the Blackhawks will see all year. At 22 years old, Andrew Shaw is all smiles after agreeing to a $4 Million extension into the 2016 season with the defending Stanley Cup champions.
After watching Shaw in action during the playoffs last season it’s not hard to see why the team decided keep him on the next couple years. “Shawsie has been great since he came into the league,” Patrick Sharp explained in his latest encounter with the Chicago Tribune. “We always make fun of him in the locker room and say that if you just look at him, he doesn’t look like an NHL player, but boy, he has a big heart. He goes to the dirty areas out there, he plays hard every game. We’re a better team with him in the lineup.” Needless to say players and fans are both excited to see what will transpire this winter. And now with Kris Versteeg coming back into the mix, the Blackhawks are setting the stage for what could be the first back-to-back championships ever for the city of Chicago.
