Bears sign Jamaal Anderson
Earlier today it was announced that Sedrick Ellis will be retiring from the NFL and not following through on the one-year deal he inked with the Bears during the offseason. The Bears wasted no time in filling the void of a veteran defensive lineman on their roster, signing defensive end Jamaal Anderson just hours later. Anderson, 27, was the 8th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. He spent four season in Atlanta but was an able to play at the level expected of such a high draft pick; since, he played a season with the Colts and had stint with the Bengals last year. The Bears will look for Anderson to provide depth to an exceptionally strong defensive front which is currently led by Pro Bowlers Julius Peppers and Henry Melton.
