Lollapalooza Spotlight: Alt-J

Lollapalooza Spotlight: Alt-J

Propelled by the success of their debut album, An Awesome Wave, English band Alt-J looks to make a splash at Lollapalooza this August

About Alt-J

In 2007, while studying at Leeds University, vocalist Joe Newman, bassist Gwil Sainsbury, Keyboardist Gus Unger-Hamilton and drummer Thom Green first formed the band that would become Alt-J. The quartet spent the next four years developing their unique sound and in the processed created several of their most notable songs to date including “Breezeblocks” and “Tessellate.” In 2012, the band released their debut album, An Awesome Wave, via the record label Infectious Music. The critically acclaimed LP landed them a British Mercury Prize and Album of the Year at the Ivor Awards. Now, with their fanbase growing rapidly internationally, Alt-J will head to Chicago for their first taste of Lollapalooza.
