The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival will hit the Chicago area on August 31st at Tinley Park's First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. Oddball is a brand-new comedy festival introduced by comedy website FunnyOrDie.com, and it is the biggest event they have hosted. The Festival tours the nation late August through early September, making 13 stops throughout the US.
While the tour is headlined by famed comedian Dave Chappelle and comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, eight other comedians will be performing at different shows. The Tinley Park show features Al Madrigal, Demetri Martin, Hannibal Buress, Kristen Schaal, and Brody Stevens.

Chappelle is best known for hilarious stand-up and his former show on Comedy Central, Chappelle's Show. While the show was very popular during its run, it lasted only three seasons and 33 episodes before Chappelle abruptly left for South Africa during production in 2006. Since then he has stayed busy, including setting the then-world record for longest stand-up show of all time at six hours and 12 minutes in December 2007.
Flight of the Conchords is comprised of New Zealanders Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Their act is both musical and comical and got them significant radio time on BBC followed by their own HBO series, Flight of the Conchords, in 2007. Although the show lasted just two seasons it gave them more worldwide exposure. They have also appeared on late night television and performed at music festivals around the world. They have a unique international cult following.
San Francisco native Al Madrigal is a regular on both The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and has also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Conan. He began his comedy career doing stand-up and sketch work in San Francisco on his own and with the group Fresh Robots before getting on Fox's comedy series The Ortegas and Comedy Central's Shorties Watchin' Shorties.
Another contributor to Stewart's Daily Show, Yale-educated Demetri Martin gained much of his fame through his brief TV series on Comedy Central, Important Things with Demetri Martin, in which he examined a specific theme, like 'Money' or 'Strategy', and made jokes about society's portrayal of that theme. In 2011 he released his first book, titled This Is A Book.

New York-based comedian Hannibal Buress has become more popular recently, as well as taking behind-the-scenes roles on big productions. From 2009 to 2010 he was a writer for Saturday Night Live before writing for the fifth season of 30 Rock. He has performed on Comedy Central programming, virtually every late-night show, and also hosts a show at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn every Sunday night.
Kristen Schaal is best known for her role as Mel on Flight of the Conchords and for her appearances on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. She has also appeared on 30 Rock, The Simpsons, Modern Family, and Comedy Central programming. She wrote a book called The Sexy Book of Sexy Sex with her then-fiance Rich Blomquist.

Brody Stevens began doing stand-up in Los Angeles before moving to Seattle, where he crafted his act. He also starred in a public access TV show which gained local popularity. He has appeared on many TV shows including Tosh.O, Chelsea Lately, Conan, and The Best Damn Sports Show Period. He has also appeared in movies Due Date, The Hangover, and The Hangover II. Stevens will host the second stage at the Oddball Fest.
