The 2012 Chicago White Sox Spirit & Mascot Day went off without a hitch last Sunday, August 12 at U.S. Cellular Field. About twenty smiley, over-sized mascots could be seen throughout the park waving, dancing, and posing for pictures with fans. One of those mascots was our beloved "Goldie the Ticket," and boy was he excited to make his debut in the big leagues!
White Sox Mascot, Southpaw, was the Grand Marshall of the event that started out by Gate 4 before the game started. Local cheerleading and dance squads created a spirit-filled atmosphere while music from a nearby live band filled the air. Mascots from the Chicago area (including the Bulls' Benny the Bull, Depaul's DIBS, and Rockford Ice Hog's Hammy Hog) grooved along to the music while snapping photos and high-fiving fans young and old. Then everyone moved inside for a mascot parade around the infield just before the first pitch. Overall, it was a great time and we would like to extend a special thank you to the Chicago White Sox for inviting Goldie to the party!
