Matt Forte and Chicago Bears Agree to 4-Year Deal
After an offseason spent trying to come to terms, The Chicago Bears and Pro-Bowl running back Matt Forte have agreed on a four-year deal which is reportedly worth $32 million.
Last season, Forte rushed for 997 yards on the ground and contributed nearly another 500 yards receiving in 12 games before being sidelined the remainder of the season with an injury. The fact the Bears came to a long term agreement with the 26-year-old back, shows they are confident Forte has fully recovered and capable of putting up numbers like this for years to come – something Chicago Bears fans should be very excited about.
With Forte now set to rejoin the team in off-season training camp, this might be the best Chicago Bears offensive units we’ve seen in recent memory. In addition to a upgrade in depth (signing former starters Jason Campbell and Michael Bush as backups), the Bears added pro-bowl caliber wide-receiver Brandon Marshall who has a successful history with Quarterback Jay Cutler.
