Lollapalooza Spotlight: The Head & The Heart
The Head & The Heart an indie-folk group that has been making a lot of noise over the last few months. The band hails from Seattle, a city that has produced some very notable musicians in the past. The band thrives on its beautiful vocal harmonics that flow through violin, piano, and guitar to produce a sound that is easy to dance to while singing along to intelligent lyrics.
The group’s chemistry is well balanced due it large part to the way the band was formed. Josiah Johnson and Jonathan Russell both frequented open mic night at Connor Byrne a pub in Seattle. They formed a songwriting partnership and added Kenny Hensley as a keyboardist. Other band members Charity Rose Thielen and Tyler Williams had left musical pursuits and relocated to start fresh on the west coast. The last part of the equation was Chris Zasche who was bartending at Connor Byrne and agreed to play bass for the band. From there out The Head & The Heart was formed.
They are currently on a North American tour through November with stops at several festivals including Lollapalooza. Be sure to catch them and enjoy some feel good sounds in the sun at Grant Park.
The Head & The Heart will perform at Lollapalooza on Friday August 3rd
