Blood Sweat & Beers…A Good Ol’ Country Time In The Suburbs
This past Friday I was lucky enough to have my very first country music concert experience. Brantley Gilbert opened up for Eric Church at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates. Church is known for being a ‘bad boy’ in the country music scene, so I was excited to see what the show had in store for me. From the crowd to the beers, I felt like I was back home in Texas. Everyone truly went out and got dressed for the occasion.
Even though I got my tickets the day before the show, I was pleasantly surprised that even the upper (200) level of the Sears Centre had a great view of the stage. It was the perfect combination of having a great view, not being cramped by a mob of people, and being close to the bar. Eric Church put on quite the show! His set was full of just enough lights and smoke to not take away attention from the music. Brantley Gilbert (whom I had just recently heard of) was also great live! I have to be honest though….the music was amazing and that’s what I came for, but the whole experience of cowboy boots, flannel shirts, good moods, and lots of beer drinking made it a night to remember. It was my first country music concert and definitely not my last!
