Red Hot Chili Peppers Descend On Allstate Arena
Red Hot Chili Peppers to perform at the Allstate Arena May 28
The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be coming to Chicago for the first time since Lollapalooza 2006, a year in which I was unfortunately unable to attend. It would prove to be a crucial mistake since it was the last opportunity Chicago was able to see the band with John Frusciante as lead guitarist and vocals. It is safe to say that I am bitter. It’s also safe to say that I’ll be at the Allstate Arena on May 28 supporting the band and new guitarist/vocalist.

A New Look
John Klinghoffer is a Frusciante protege and the replacement that they have chosen for their current I’m With You Tour. The world tour is in progress and is expected to last through 2013; it is a extensive tour that will no doubt be a spectacle.
RHCP Have Stood the Test of Time
I have been a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan since I started listening to music, and they are one of my favorite bands of all time. I chose to write this blog to show them some love.
The band’s appeal is not just their music; their attitude on and off stage has always drawn me towards the band. They’re the kind of guys I’d want to hang out with – just look at the picture above – they’re quirky and always seem to be having a good time.
In my opinion, they must be included in the conversation when one is discussing the best bands of all time. Other bands that come to mind are Jane’s Addiction, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Radiohead, etc.
Talent like the Chili Peppers’ only comes around so often, but they share a journey with the bands above because they have proven their staying power over the years. They rose to stardom in the late 80′s by producing a sound all of their own. The band perfected that unique style through the 90′s and early 2000′s. They have since tuned it ever so slightly and remain as relevant today as they ever were.
The ups and downs of musical immortality are as intriguing to me as the music that is produced. Changes in band members, drugs, sex, alcohol, and style change are all common themes when discussing these legendary acts. I feel it is safe to call the Red Hot Chili Peppers legends. Throughout their existence they have been able to overcome adversity and consistently produce albums that find themselves in the upper tier of the billboard charts.
Allstate Arena In May
The Chili Peppers will bring their infusion of alternative rock, punk rock, and funk to the soon-to-be-sold out Allstate Arena May 28. They have already been touring the world since July of 2011. Josh Klinghoffer has been a backup musician on previous tours for the band, and has proven chemistry and experience with the other musicians. The Red Hot Chili Peppers also added Mauro Refosco and Chris Warren as backup musicians for this tour. Fans all over the world should be really excited for the chance to see these guys live. Hopefully, we can see them for many more years to come.
