The Greatest Show on Earth Promises High Voltage Fun in Chicago this November
Autumn is here and with it comes the arrival of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. The circus comes through the Allstate Arena and United Center annually, causing the Blackhawks and Bulls (not the Bulls this year, boooo) to pack their bags and head out for an extended road trip. It has been years since I have been to the circus, probably well over fifteen years actually. This year may mark my return, now I feel that my nieces are finally old enough to experience all of the marvels that come with "The Greatest Show On Earth." What To Expect If my memory serves me right, there were some really neat things to experience inside the "big top". There was everything from a lion tamer who managed to subdue the most fearsome of beasts to huge elephants that could perform all kinds of cool tricks. The acrobats were always super entertaining with their daredevil performances, and although I've never been a fan of clowns, they did a great job of keeping the crowd's attention with their juggling and small-car driving skills. The touring circus is performing three different shows that are all unique in their own right. Funundrum, Fully Charged, and Zing Zang Zoom will be touring across the U.S. for several months. The all-new Fully Charged show is coming to Chicago. It promises to be one of the most entertaining editions ever put on by the circus involving animals, clowns, acrobats, "human fuses," and other daredevil performances. Where and When The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus will be at the Allstate Arena Friday through Sunday for a ten day period (November 3rd through November 13th). There will be one Thursday performance at 7:00 pm on November 3rd. The performances on Friday-Sunday are available for several different times ranging from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm. Check out all the different dates and times here. If you can't catch the Allstate Arena performances don't fret. The same show will run at the United Center from November 16th through November 27th. This particular show will have performances Wednesday through Sunday at various times. You can find all the schedule info here. This year's show has promised to shock and awe circus goers. Going to the circus was definitely a stand out memory of my childhood (not sure if it was because I was terrified or excited) and it makes for a great outing for the whole family. With uncles, aunts, grandparents, and cousins traveling into Chicago for the holiday season, be sure to grab some tickets for everyone and enjoy the show!
