The first time I went to Warped Tour was when I was 14 in 2001. I was a young, wide-eyed kid who loved pop-punk music. I stepped into the festival only liking a few pop-punk bands, who were pretty mainstream, but after I left there were a handful of underground bands that I watched and fell in love with. Ten years later, I still listen to and love those bands. This is one of many reasons I enjoy going to the Vans Warped Tour.
Another thing that makes the festival unique and awesome is that all bands seem to act as a family and community.
Musicians come out when they’re not playing to support each other, walk around to talk to people, and really open themselves up to enjoy the social nature of the outdoor festival. This gives attendees a rare chance to meet, dance and have a drink with their favorite guitarist or singer. I’ve been lucky enough to meet some of my favorite musicians while strolling around the fest.
There are more genres than punk rock and pop punk, so don’t limit yourself to thinking that’s all that is there. Ska, alternative rock, and many other sub genres of rock fill the air as well. If you like rock music, there is a band on this bill that you will probably love.
Warped Tour is coming through Illinois on July 9 at First Midwest Bank Amphitheater and goes all day starting at 11:30AM.

VANS WARPED TOUR TICKETS CHICAGO

Paramore isn’t coming to Chicago. They will be in Europe at the time.
You are correct, sorry for the confusion. The list has been updated to reflect the correct bands. This post was originally written when the bands playing were subject to change. Thanks for giving us a heads up!
Skrillex I heard?
According to the official website for the Warped Tour http://vanswarpedtour.com/event/id/38137 and Skrillex’s Myspace page, looks like they are not playing this year’s Chicago tour date. http://www.myspace.com/skrillex – but if you’re in the mood for a roadtrip you can catch them in Charlotte, NC.
ASKING ALEXANDRIA!!!!! I’m moving to Chicago in like three days, having lived in West Palm Beach, Florida, I thought that I was leaving all hopes of ever going to Warped again. For more reason than one, I thought that with out my friends I could never face Warped Tour alone! Furthermore, I thought that Chicago wouldn’t have Warped Tour (for like half a second… cut me some slack) and that I would have to travel and spend unattained money to see my favourite bands on stage again. But lo and behold, Chicago is Warped! xD
Yes, Chicago’s hosted the Warped Tour every year since I can remember – and now you have a source for VIP tickets to next year’s tour (that’s me, of course!) Any time you need tickets for concerts in your new city, let me know…312-644-6446 or GoldCoastTickets.com.
