One Year Blog Anniversary – Blackhawks or Bulls Jersey Giveaway
It’s our one-year blog anniversary today! What a year it’s been. We’ve had plenty to post about with a Stanley Cup winning team in town, player trades, big tour announcements, and so much more.
The opinions you’ve heard here are very similar (if not slightly filtered for public viewing) to the ‘daily talk’ around the office. People in our industry are pretty opinionated about the subjects we talk about 99.9% of our work week, so why not write about them? We hope that this has been a window for our readers to become more acquainted with the ticket guy (or girl) they talk to all the time. Plus it’s a good forum to post the latest event updates and ticket news to keep you informed on upcoming Chicago events.
So, to celebrate our one year blog anniversary, we’re giving away a free Blackhawks or Bulls jersey, winner’s choice. To enter the drawing, comment on this post with one suggestion of what you’d like to see from our blog in the future and why.
We’ll draw a winner on Monday, November 15th and announce it here. So, make sure to comment with your suggestion by midnight on Sunday, Nov. 14th & include an email address or phone number so that we can reach you. If you’d like to be the first to know who wins, please subscribe to our blog via our RSS feed (or your favorite reader), ‘like us’ on facebook, or follow us on twitter.
Thank you for your readership this past year and good luck!
Update (11/15 3PM): Congratulations to our One-Year Blog Anniversary winner, John Delavan! Please contact our office to claim your free Blackhawks or Bulls jersey.
Thanks again to everyone who participated. You have been instrumental in our journey towards building a better blog. We’ll be doing this kind of thing more often (thanks to your feedback), so check back soon and good luck next time!

I’d love to see more posts on this blog related to concert tours, changes in how they are ticketed and what venues are doing to get more people to come to shows (especially big-ticket, big-venue gigs) during tough times. There’s a lot of good sports-related posts, not as much on the music side it seems.
Very good suggestions John D. More artists are making concerts will-call only or paperless (Jerry Seinfeld, Bruce Springsteen & Michael Buble for example) and all of the rule changes regarding this type of ticketing can be confusing. The ticket industry is a constantly-evolving one, so we’ll focus on making the changes more accessible to you.
And you’re right, the concert portion of our blog could be a bit more robust. Your suggestions have been noted and we’ll work on bringin’ the music back. Thanks for participating! We’ll announce the jersey winner at 3PM today.
I think It would be cool to get more of the fans inputs on the topics. Maybe once a month take some of the peoples comments and respond to them in a blog.
Great idea John R. We’d love to get more input from our readers – you guys are the reason we write and you’re feedback is very important to us. We could definitely add some question/answer type posts as a monthly feature.
Thanks for responding – we’ll be drawing the jersey winner this afternoon and announcing at 3PM as an update to this post. Good luck!
It would be nice to have some trivia contests where you can win discounts or free tickets.
Thanks, Tim. We’re always looking for new ways to get our readers involved and when we’ve done trivia contests/giveaways in the past, people have really seemed to like them.
I dig the idea of awarding special discounts to correctly answered trivia questions; this is something we can absolutely do more often! Thanks for your suggestions and stay tuned for the Blackhawks or Bulls jersey winner’s name to be announced here at 3PM today!
I believe one thing would be to cover more of the concerts including set lists etc. Also on the blog it would be cool to post different views from the seats you sell for different events.
ex – one view from upper deck of united center/soldier field, one from club level, one from field level. etc.
this would help people not only know what they are buying but also more knowledge on whether upgrading the seats is really worth the extra money.
It’s always worth the upgrade Kevin! Ha, just kidding
What a great idea, we can definitely start working on a gallery of different level’s seat views for the major Chicago venues. Now we just have to talk the bosses into giving us tickets for some ‘work research.’ I can see this in a slideshow format, by venue. That way our readers can easily access and forward links to their friends/family.
And the set lists are a great idea (when we have them or can gain access to them). Keep the ideas and feedback coming! And check back at 3PM, when we’ll be announcing the winner of the Blackhawks or Bulls jersey giveaway.
I would like to see the view from the seat to determine if there is an obstruction. It would make me think about upgrading to a better seat if there was something in the way.
Thanks Karen! We want to help you (and other readers) make educated decisions when purchasing tickets, and ideas like this give us the input we need to do so. Some of the venue maps on our website (Soldier Field, United Center) have a “view from seat” feature, so you will see an approximate view from the section you’re interested in, but we can take it a step further!
We’ll work on getting some ideas together (venue view slideshows, for example) to make help you decide whether the upgrade is worth the extra money. Thanks for responding, and good luck on the jersey giveaway – we’ll be announcing the winner as an update to this post at 3PM today!
