Best Seat in the House?
Last season the NFL RedZone channel debuted on the NFL Network. The RedZone channel allows fans to watch multiple NFL games on Sunday afternoons, cutting in live when a team enters the “red-zone” (inside the 20-yard line). So, every Sunday last season I watched each touchdown and important play in high-definition as it happened.
As a huge Bears fan and elite fantasy football player, I looked forward to spending six commercial-free hours on NFL Sundays with RedZone host Scott Hanson. After going to a few early season Bears games last season, I turned down tickets later in the year just so I could get my NFL RedZone fix. I’ve attended Bears games my entire life and enjoy the live atmosphere of being in the crowd, but why deal with traffic, parking, freezing temperatures, $8 beers and crowds of 60,000+ when the NFL experience from my couch was just as rewarding without the hassle.
This year I was facing the same dilemma until I was introduced to something called FanVision. It is a handheld, wireless device that streams live football to your seat in Soldier Field.
While in the stadium I get access to the Bears television broadcast, the NFL RedZone Channel, and instant replay feeds from multiple cameras in the stadium. Real-time game stats and fantasy football updates are also available at my fingertips. FanVision has enhanced the fan interaction level when attending Bears game by twofold. I am able to watch the Bears live, stay current with all other NFL games, and track my fantasy team’s performance among other things. There really isn’t more I could ask for on a Sunday afternoon in the fall.
