Smashing Pumpkins to Play Benefit at Metro
Hey Pumpkins fans – see your favorite band live and support a good cause at the Metro next Tuesday night. The Smashing Pumpkins and Kill Hannah have announced a concert to benefit Madina Lake’s Matthew Leone, who was severely beaten in Chicago last month following his attempt to intervene in a violent domestic dispute.
The benefit should hopefully raise a substantial amount of money to aid in the bassist’s growing hospital bills. He suffered from a broken jaw, nose and skull. Although he is doing better now, Leone unfortunately did not have health insurance.
You may buy tickets directly from the Metro’s website three different ways.
- Buy as many $10 raffle tickets as you like for a chance to win 2 tickets. (So, ultimately some fans will go to the show for $5/ea. but there is no guarantee with purchase of a raffle ticket that you will picked as a winner and admitted to the show.)
- Buy tickets for $100/ea. for VIP Balcony tickets. This includes a ticket to the show and access to the Metro balcony.
- Buy a $500 Soundcheck VIP ticket. These ticket holders receive a ticket to the show, a reserved seat at a table in the Metro balcony, admission to a private soundcheck, meet and greet + photo with the band and merchandise items.
IMPORTANT: All tickets will be will-call only with a 2 ticket limit. Ticket holders must arrive with their guest and valid government ID to claim tickets. You will not receive your tickets until you enter the venue and there is absolutely no re-entry. Duplicate purchases via credit card number or billing address will be canceled. All tickets are non-transferable.
Doors open at 6:30PM, show at 8PM on Tuesday, July 27th. Metro is located at 3730 N. Clark Street, Chicago IL. Raffle and VIP tickets are on sale now. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase until 2PM on Saturday, July 24th. Winners will be notified by 5PM Saturday evening.
