The Baylor Bears are a college football team that competes in the Big 12 conference. The Bears have not traditionally been great at football; however, these past two years they have really become a force to be reckoned with. The Bears operate under head coach Art Briles at Floyd Casey Stadium, which holds exactly 50,000 fans. The Bears have many players currently in the NFL, most notably including: last year’s Heisman Trophy winner and current Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Jason Smith, and Atlanta Falcons place kicker Matt Bryant. Last season the Bears finished 9-3, their best record since the 1980 season. They also earned themselves a trip to the Alamo Bowl where they defeated the Washington Huskies, the Bears second trip to a bowl game in the last 15 years.
