Alabama Crimson Tide Football

2013: 11-2 (7-1 SEC); lost Allstate Sugar Bowl to Oklahoma

As the defending champ for the third time in four years, Alabama came into 2013 on top of the college football world again.   They played like it too, beating Virginia Tech in Atlanta in Week 1, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and LSU along an 11-0 start that kept them the #1 team in the nation.  But the stunning Iron Bowl loss on a kickoff return touchdown sent them backwards, costing them a likely bid in the national title game.  They were beaten handily in the Sugar Bowl by Oklahoma.  The SEC became its own worst enemy as is often with power conferences.  Especially with the ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and Big 12 hot on their tail to become football powerhouses at their level.  AJ McCarron (2,063 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, 67% completions) was a great quarterback who will always be remembered in Tuscaloosa, even if his NFL career doesn’t even live up to his already low expectations.  TJ Yeldon quickly became the top running back especially after the departure of Eddie Lacy.  Look for him to continue greatness along with another big name running back.  But the dominating defense is what sets them and the rest of the SEC apart.  The biggest non-conference game is the home opener against downtrodden West Virginia, a game that would’ve been bigger two or three years ago.  But the SEC schedule has home games against Texas A&M, Florida, and Auburn.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are members of the Western Division in the SEC.  Gold Coast Tickets has the best deals on tickets to Crimson Tide football games this season!  The team operates under head coach Nick Saban at Bryant-Denny Stadium, which holds just under 102,000 fans.  They have won 15 national titles, 27 conference titles, and Mark Ingram won them a Heisman in 2009.  The Crimson Tide have had many famous NFL players throughout the years; however, currently the most notable include: Julio Jones, DeMeco Ryans, CJ Mosley, Eddie Lacy, Trent Richardson, and Courtney Upshaw.  This year they look to get to another National Championship run and Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on another historic season.
